Why do my eyes feel tired but not my body?

How Screens Cause Eye Tiredness
This usually happens when visual and cognitive systems are overloaded while your physical energy remains intact. Screens, artificial lighting, close-focus work and constant visual input fatigue the eye-brain connection long before the muscles or cardiovascular system feel tired.
Eye fatigue is less about physical exhaustion and more about neural strain. Your eyes are an extension of the brain, so when attention, focus-switching, or visual processing is overused, the sensation shows up locally in the eyes even if your body still feels capable.
It can also happen when your nervous system is slightly overstimulated: the body is alert enough to function, but the sensory system is asking for reduced input rather than rest.
Things to try
Look at a single distant object (out a window or across a room) and notice whether the pressure or heaviness behind the eyes softens by the end of the timer.
Listen to low-tempo instrumental music around 396 Hz or 417 Hz at a comfortable volume and track only the rhythm, checking if eye tension reduces even though you haven’t closed them.
For 2 minutes, close your eyes and notice the natural brightness or darkness behind the eyelids, observing whether blinking urge or eye strain decreases before reopening them.
