The number, 7.83 Hz, is the measured frequency of the Schumann Resonance, the pulse that sits between the earth's surface and the ionosphere, generated by the planet's own electrical activity and lightning strikes happening somewhere in the world at any given moment. You won't typically 'feel' it, but it does exist all around you. Sometimes called the 'heartbeat of the Earth.' It all sounds a bit mystical, but the science is surprisingly solid. This track takes that frequency where I have built a twenty-minute soundscape around it. What you'll hear isn't a melody in the usual sense. Sustained tones, some choral layers, other decorations, all of which move slowly under and around each other, giving the sense of something wide rather than something played.
