About the music:

Beautifully balanced solfeggio meditation music with theta layer. A subtle soundscape with delicate ornaments invoke a wonderful stillness and feeling of calm. I hope you enjoy it.

Relieve Pain 174 Hz sits at the foundation of Mishi's solfeggio and isochronic series, the first release in that line. Every instrument, including the isochronic pulses themselves, is tuned to 174 hertz, the lowest tone in the solfeggio scale. A theta brainwave emerges, giving you a way to lean the track toward focused relaxation or toward the deeper stillness before sleep, depending on which one you bring forward.

174 Hz is often called the foundation frequency within the solfeggio system, positioned as the lowest of the nine tones and associated in that tradition with easing physical tension and pain, and with giving the body a sense of safety low enough to register almost as much in the chest as in the ears. The isochronic pulsing layered into this track works on a different principle: rhythmic pulses of sound aimed at nudging brainwave activity toward a particular pace.

Research on this is still thin. Isochronic tones remain far less studied than binaural beats, but small studies using theta-frequency pulses have reported reduced pain perception in people with chronic pain and lower anxiety after short listening sessions. No study has specifically tested delta-wave tones the way this track offers them, so that layer is better understood as supporting the wind-down toward sleep the tradition describes, rather than a proven effect in itself.

This track sits well in our wider collection for anxious, overwhelmed states, tuned toward tension release rather than distraction.

Benefits

  • Traditionally associated with easing physical tension and pain as the foundation tone of the solfeggio scale

  • Theta pulse layer is linked in small studies to reduced pain perception and lower anxiety after short sessions

  • Low, grounded tone that may support a felt sense of safety and being settled

  • Offers a delta pulse option for winding down toward sleep, alongside the theta option for focused relaxation

Ways to use it

  • Choose the theta layer when you want to settle tension while staying alert enough to keep going afterward

  • Switch to the delta layer during a wind-down before bed, when the aim is sleep rather than focus

  • Use during a stretch of physical tension or pain, rather than as background while working

  • Give it a full session without switching tracks partway through, since brainwave entrainment needs sustained listening a real chance to work
